Roberto Ortiz Painting Samples

In April 2015, Roberto Ortiz suffered a stroke that left him on the edge of life and death.  His brain stopped working for a week.   His family made preparations to place him in a nursing home, as his body was working.
Then his brain started up.  He spend 3 days in rehab and after he got out he went on a painting frenzy.

This Saturday, March 5th, Roberto Ortiz has his next art opening at Exodo Art Gallery in Rincon.

He began painting in oils at the age of fifteen.  He considers painting his life's work and his passion. Over the forty years of painting he has consistently explored landscapes, surrealism and abstract painting.  He has exhibited in New Orleans, New York, Miami, San Juan and Rincon, Puerto Rico. He currently resides in Rincon.

“My inspiration comes primarily from the great beauty found in nature. There is nothing more inspiring to me than a beautiful landscape where one can feel peace and tranquility.

In my abstract painting I try to create a balance between composition and a feeling of spontaneous flow found in nature. A great many of my paintings come from my imagination.

These are images that I want to see on canvas and it is the process of bringing them to life that will always keep me painting."
