Seashore Life

There is much life on the seashore.  Hermit crabs abound in this area.  They don't grow their own shell, they adopt shells, and at times fight for each other's shells.

I try protecting these guys so humans don't take their shells.  Every spring they congregate by this huge tree between the land and sand.   I've argued with folks trying to take these small creatures for their shells.  Everyone wants a momento from their tropical vacation.  But it shouldn't be at the expense of this small crab's life.

I've planted these plants called maguey that have these really nasty spikes and cut like razor blades. I think these crabs meet to mate. I hope they're around for my grand kids.
